Mount Hope Plantation Wedding: Cameron and Scott

Dec 3, 2019

Mount Hope isn’t just the quintessential Louisiana plantation, it was also the perfect setting for Cameron and Scott’s Baton Rouge wedding.

Steeped in a history as a huge cotton plantation and a place of respite for Confederate soldiers during the civil war, Mount Hope‘s gorgeous plantation house has survived the test of time and is surrounded by a wrap-around porch, shaded by legacy oaks draped in Spanish Moss, and interspersed with historic gardens and lush greenery. Everything about it exudes romance and sweet southern love.

And Cameron and Scott’s love fit in perfectly!

These two love life so much. Seriously! This girl was so excited to party and have a good time that she and her bridesmaids were literally jumping on the bed at the Renaissance Hotel while they were getting ready!

Once everyone had their hair and makeup perfected, we headed over to Mount Hope so Cameron could get into her dress and then head out for her and Scott’s First Look. It was absolute perfection! We had amazing light and they both shed some ridiculously happy tears once they saw each other. Ah, those First Look moments. They get us every time! And once their First Look was done, their little guy, Luke, arrived on scene and he was so excited to see them that he ran up to them all giddy and bouncing with happiness.

To make the moment even better, Cameron and Scott also set aside an entire hour for portraits after their First Look, so we had plenty of time to get some seriously gorgeous shots.

From the First Look onward, the day flowed smoothly with Cameron and Scott’s outdoor ceremony—complete with a painter who painted them while it was happening—to the epic party that unfolded at their reception in the outdoor courtyard.

We love love love weddings that roll along easily to the beat of the couple’s love and a well-planned wedding day timeline and we had so much fun with them while they said “I do” and danced into the night.

We want to roll with you through your wedding day too! If you are getting married in Louisiana soon and you’re looking for fun, fresh, feisty wedding photographers, we know a couple! Let’s chat!
