“Traveling- It leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”

We love a good adventure. And any kind of adventure at that. An adventure down the road or one across the country bring us untold amounts of joy to experience. Erin and Hunter reached out to us a couple of months back telling us of an adventure they had laid before themselves to elope in Yosemite National Park with their two adventurous boys in tow. They had plans to road trip their way there from Chicago and venture across the country and back, while making a stop in this beautiful place to vow to spend forever with each other. What an honor it was to be present. To witness love like this.

Erin and Hunter decided to get married in the redwoods behind their hotel in Yosemite with just their two boys, Brayden and Aiden, watching their mom and dad tie the knot. After saying Erin snd Hunter said their vows, the boys recited a poem together about family and the importance and impact it has on their lives. How crazy sweet to watch.

After making everything official, we headed into the valley where we all explored together and got lost in the woods as we wandered around, marveling at this grand place and all it had to offer. It was so much fun getting to know these two that afternoon and their well behaved boys. Hearing their story of how they met and seeing them enjoy being together. Before log, it was time to make our way up to Taft Point, where we watched the sun set over the mountain range and watched the sky fade from a beautiful orange to a serene lavender colored sky your mind wouldn’t believe seeing.

The next morning, we all woke up hours before the sun rose and made our way up to one of the highest points in the park, Glacier Point to watch the sun rise over Half Dome. If you have not been, you need to experience this. There’s nothing like watching the park come alive, as it were, as light begins to shine on places you had yet to see. We wandered around the area, taking in every second of this exhilarating and humbling place.

Erin and Hunter, thank you for having us there to witness your love for each other and for what is out there in this world. And seeing how important your sweet family was to you both put the biggest smile on our face. Married life looks so wonderful on you two.
