“If I know what love is, it’s because of you.” – Hermann Hesse
Wedding planning in New Orleans over the last year has changed time and time again. Weddings were downsized, then guest lists then increased, then had to be small in number all over again. At the beginning of all of this, Caitlin and Ben spoke with us over the phone and they had informed us that no matter what, they were going forward with a small, intimate wedding day. And boy are we glad they did.
Caitlin and Ben decided on a smaller wedding day simply for the hope of having less to worry about that day, which absolutely turned out to be one of the most well paced days we’ve been a part of. We arrived to meet Caitlin and Ben in their respective rooms at the all too cool Hotel Peter and Paul where they got ready with close family and friends present. After getting prepped, these two lovely people had their first look down the hall and Ben’s reaction was priceless. We walked around the hotel grounds and took portraits prior to the ceremony next door, which was perfectly intimate and special in it’s own way.
After the ceremony and officially becoming husband and wife, we took a few more portraits with them before all heading over to Cafe Degas down the street where we got to sit nearby and document their intimate laughter-filled family dinner next to all the open windows while the rain came down outside. It was all so perfect. Congratulations again you two! We’re grateful to be a part of days like these. We appreciate the little moments, and love when our couples share the same sentiment.
