Anniversary Adventure Session at Avery Island: Alex & Mo

Mar 11, 2020

Our Anniversary Adventure Session with our good friends Alex and Mo was so much fun!

We met Alex through his wedding videography company, Apercu Films. Over the years, we have worked on some of the most incredible weddings together and have bonded over the artistry behind it. Alex is our kind of person so we were thrilled to get a chance to hang out with him and Mo, his wife, both at their home in Lafayette and then out at Avery Island for an anniversary session.

We started in their beautiful home in Lafayette. Alex and Mo obviously love plants, and dogs, as their place has a plethora of greenery and furbabies! Their two long-haired dachshunds are absolutely adorable and we had a blast shooting Alex and Mo interacting with them. The indoor part of our anniversary adventure session was so relaxed and easy. If anything makes a house a home, it’s definitely dogs, plants, and a whole lot of love, but not necessarily in that order!

For the outdoor half of their anniversary adventure session, we headed out to the Jungle Gardens at Avery Island—one of our favorite places to shoot out there. We spent some time walking around—with and without the pooches—and capturing the gorgeous scenery while Alex and Mo interacted playfully with each other, laughing the entire time. Talk about an easy couple to work with! They were totally up for anything we suggested and we had time to get creative and try some fun angles and compositions. Love it when we get enough time with a couple to let our creative sides flow.

We also changed it up for this anniversary adventure session and shot on film and we were able to shoot until the sun went down. It was a blast and we enjoyed every moment of it!

If you have an anniversary coming up and you’re interested in heading out for an adventure with us, let’s chat!
