Marigny Opera House Wedding: Daniela and Sam

“I am never not thinking of you.” – Virginia Woolf

We’ve had the immense privilege to meet some of the sweetest people around and the opportunity to tell their great stories. Daniela and Sam’s story was a pretty cool one too. We had been corresponding with Daniela and Sam for months prior to their wedding in New Orleans, LA, including several emails and texts filled with sneak peeks for the wedding, which we just ooh-ed and ahh-ed over. We love talking weddings, and it made us happy to see how much Daniela valued our input on so many things.

Daniela and Sam flew in from New York City to have their wedding celebration in the Big Easy and the city blew them away. You can’t come to New Orleans and not be blown away by some characteristic of it. A part of it always sticks with you. It was supposed to rain on their wedding day, but as we drove over to Nola, the sun came out from time to time, and not a drop of rain was to be seen. We’re sure that no matter the weather, these two would’ve owned every second of it. All of their friends and family came in from so many places, including New York City and Mexico, and it was quite the celebration. Daniela and her bridesmaids got ready in an Airbnb in the Audubon area while Sam and his groomsmen hung out a couple of blocks down from the reception venue, Marigny Opera House, in Bywater. Sam and his buddies hopped on a bus and headed over to meet Daniela for their first look and some fun portraits together.

Their first look was so sweet, and Sam’s reaction was the best. After spending a little time taking photos of them, we went straight into family portraits, hopped on the bus and headed over to the Marigny Opera House to wrap up family formals and to watch these two vow to spend forever together. Their ceremony was sweet and absolutely stunning. After smashing the glass at the end, the newlyweds and their guests gathered outside for a fun New Orleans tradition, a second line. Guests were dancing up a storm, and Daniela and Sam lead the way. As we rounded a few blocks we made it back to the Marigny Opera House where an outdoor cocktail hour awaited guests while the ceremony indoors was being flipped into a beautiful reception dinner. Daniela and Sam put so much hard work into all the details of the wedding day, and they were so much fun t photograph.

As the night came, the party started. The dance floor was packed with friends and family, and it got even more crowded as the Hora began, which is absolutely one of the funnest experiences. We typically get so hyped up with the crowd that you’ll see us weaving in and out of the dance floor and singing with everyone around. Guest thoroughly enjoyed themselves, dancing through the night, grabbing glow sticks and ending the night with a second line to the after party. What an amazing day. Thank you so much Daniela and Sam for having our team there! We had so much fun with you two and hope our paths cross in the future!
