Although we would not consider ourselves “film photographers” necessarily, for this session we decided to bring our Leica M3 that was first introduced in 1954. There is something really special about shooting on film. We love that nostalgic feeling the images and and the way shooting on film pushes us creatively and forces us to be more intentional with every shot taken. Shot with Fuji and Portra 400 and some tri x for the black and whites.
“Be yourself, you look beautiful like that.”
I cannot believe it’s been over 2 whole years since we’ve taken these photos from Kat’s bridals. We had so much fun collaborating with Kat back in March 2020 on her bridal session, but due to covid, we had to hold off sharing them after her postponed wedding in April of 2022. Now that we are finally catching up on blogging and Kat and Colin have made it official, we can share these with everyone!
Kat has a beautiful yet bold look, and we definitely wanted to highlight that in her images. With a little intentional edgy vibe, intentionally using shadows and such to our advantage and playing with some old film of ours, we feel we captured her essence and beauty. We’re so happy to finally share a few snippets from her session, and we’re thrilled the way they also turned out on film. Hoping to play around a bit more with film down the road.
