Dan O’Day Photography : Erin and Geoffrey

As photographers, we love picture taking. But sometimes, when we become so busy documenting special moments in other people’s lives, we can begin to neglect our own special moments. In 2015, we made a promise to each other to always have the important things documented in our own lives, and we have kept that promise to each other this past year.

This past August we made it to our 8 year anniversary, so the hunt for a photographer began. We love travel and being in strange new places, but wanted to keep it a little closer to home this year, so we decided to visit Austin, Texas since it came so highly recommended by many. Although we loved Austin and all it’s weirdness, we felt that a more “outdoorsy” scene was up our alley. So we settled on Pedernales State Park out in Hill Country.

But still the question remained: who would photograph us? Well it just so happened that the mastermind Dan O’Day was making his month long trip around the world over the summer and Austin was one of the cities he was visiting.  Dan has been one of our favorite photographers for a few years now. His ability to tell stories through images is highly unraveled. Needless to say we were beside ourselves when we found out he was going to be on our side of the world. So after getting in touch with each other and scheduling everything…

This happened.

We could not be more grateful for Dan and his lovely assistant Andrea who braved the ridiculous heat and who helped us to have something tangible to revisit a moment we won’t soon forget.
