“If you can be anything, be kind.”

Kindness is a quality that exceeds many traits, and is one the will long be remembered. When I think of kindness, I immediately think of Casie.

A little over a month ago, I asked around for someone who would want to come hang with me for an afternoon, on what might have been the windiest day in the history of windy days. A friend recommended Casie to me and after discussing my plan and explaining the purpose of the shoot, Casie wholeheartedly agreed and our plans were set.

I told Casie to come as she feels best describes herself, and I’m glad each of these girls are taking this to heart. There is no better way to represent yourself than to come feeling comfortable. Casie came in an soft oversized sweater, dark pants and boots. Or in her words, “I came as me.” Anyone who is around Casie can vouch for the fact that she is a genuine human being. Those who spend their time being fake, I feel sorry for. Be genuine. Be kind. Be real. You and those around you will thank you for doing so.

Casie is humble. Every compliment I gave, she had one in return. What a beautiful quality to possess. Humility is one of those qualities I wish more people tried to possess or strive for. Humility is what makes us enjoyable to be around. Humility is inviting. Haughtiness is not. Casie is always giving and displaying kindness to others without ever asking for anything in return or making someone feel indebted to her. She is somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody. THAT is kindness.
