Brooklyn, New York Engagement Session

“New York. It puts a spell on you.”

Our recent venture to New York was, interesting, to say the least. While planning for sunny days with cool fall weather, we were greeted when we arrived with a tropical storm looming over New York for days, leaving cloudy, rainy and cold weather for us to play with. With everything turning gray and moody, we were getting more and more excited, highly anticipating what was in store for the sessions we had lined up. When corresponding with Helena prior to our initial meeting, she mentioned several times that they were up for whatever was thrown our way, music to our ears.

We decided that it would be best to grab some coffee and start there, so we met up at Brooklyn Roasting Company, right next to the water front in DUMBO. We sat and sipped on our hot java, warming up before we were to head back out again. On a side note, if you haven’t been to Brooklyn Roasting Company, go. It’s incredible.

When the rain came, it didn’t phase Helena and Matt one bit. They put on a brave face and grabbed their jackets, and into the rain we ran. We walked down streets admiring local artwork and murals. We’ve been to Brooklyn several times, and each time we fall in love with this special city more and more. We are constantly reminded when we are here that there is so much we haven’t seen, and that itch we have for exploring new places makes it’s way back to us yet again. Helena and Matt, residents of Brooklyn, toured us around places like under the Manhattan Bridge, the Brooklyn Waterfront and the artwork lining the areas around the Brooklyn Bridge.

Thank you Helena and Matt for taking the time out of your busy schedules to show us a wonderful time and we are so excited for your destination wedding in New Orleans, Louisiana this weekend.

It is going to be EPIC.
