Angela and Dwayne

“When I saw you
I fell in love,
and you smiled
because you knew.”
-William Shakespeare

We make it our biggest priority to mesh well with the couples we photograph prior to the wedding day, and Angela and Dwayne were most certainly on the same page as us throughout the entirety of the wedding planning process and the day of. We knew after talking with the two lovers about their upcoming nuptials that it would be absolutely stunning, but no one knew it would be this great. We arrived to a ceremony being set up in front of a family home, in the quaintest of settings with the evening sun streaming in through the trees. Angela greeted us with the most genuine smile, filled with pure excitement and wedding day jitters, but most of all, she was ready to see Dwayne for their first look. We will always love first looks, as they create an intimate and private feel like no other, but these guys brought us to tears. Angela took a deep breath, took those first steps out of the home and came to a complete halt. Only seeing Dwayne’s back to her in the garden as he waited, she stood there, crying. She regained composure, walked over to him and the rest is history. Dwayne couldn’t keep his eyes off of her from then on.

After some time taking photos of the soon-to-be-newlyweds, we hurried back over to the house and waited for the ceremony to begin. Surrounded by close friends and family, they exchanged vows and made lifelong promises. After being presented as the new Mr. and Mrs., they walked over to the cocktail hour on the other side of the garden, where candles were lit on table tops, sweet lemonade was served to quench your thirst and garden games such as giant Jenga awaited guests.

After catching up with old friends and lots of laughter, the reception began. Around the back of the home, string lights climbed upwards into the treetops surrounding the dance floor made and put together by Dwayne himself. Tables circled the dance floor and guests watched as Angela and Dwayne shared their first dance as husband and wife and partied on into the night. Many surprises awaited throughout the night, such as a water gun fight with the groom and groomsmen, a tradition they intend to keep up. And what better way to end the night than with a sparkler exit? These two… We wish you guys many more years of marital bliss.
