“It was the way you laughed, I knew I wanted that in my life.” – r.m. drake

Just a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to go to Tennessee to attend Forest and Falls Workshop and we were blown away by how well it was all put together, and had such a great time getting to make new friends and hang with older ones. It was such an amazing experience to be among so many creatives, and we’re thrilled to be going back next year to share our own experience and to meet so many more incredible people.

While we were there, we went hiking with a couple of amazing friends of ours, Drake and Eliza, who by the way, do fantastic work that you can check out here. While there were so many photographers hanging out down by the falls, we wandered around the area and hung back a bit once everyone left, which we’re so happy we did. The day before our first hike out to the falls, it had rained all day long. Which meant all the rain water the following day would be coming down the mountains and straight to the falls. That’s exactly what happened. The falls were surging with water. If you got close enough, you could only see about 10 feet in front of you. We knew it would’ve been absolutely amazing if we could get down to the bottom of the falls and snap a few photos with Drake and Eliza, so we waited until everyone headed back to the cabins, and it was time of a little adventure.

We made it out to the bottom of the falls and you couldn’t hear anything but the raging water gushing down from the cliffside. So instead of verbally giving Drake and Eliza cues to do, we had to act it out, which was funĀ and a great challenge. We were up on this massive boulder for about 10 minutes and decided it was time to head in before it got dark. We were soaked from head to toe but it was one of the best experiences. To do something different, something a little daring. Something most people would shy away from.

We had such a fun time, we decided to head back out there with a group of friends just a couple of days later. This time, we’d actually have the chance to see the bottom of the falls much better and hike even closer. What an experience. And how cute are these two?! Eliza laughed so much and we love her for it. They rocked it and were totally themselves, which is essential. Loved hanging with Drake and Eliza so much and we hope we can do it again soon!
